Dick and Janie Walker were married October 30, 1946. He had been in the Navy and she was working for a Insurance Office in Dunkirk, NY. The house they moved into after their wedding was about 2 miles from their present location.

In 1955 they (and their two boys) moved to where the present day farm and plant is. They planted berries, cherry trees, and grapes.

The farm is one of the biggest pick your own cherry farms in the Western, NY area. They also have pick your own grapes in the fall along with grape and fruit juices.

The press house was built in 1973 when one of the plants wouldn't take all of our product. We put an add in the Buffalo news and sold 200 gallons of grape juice that year.

The grape juice business has grown into selling to 140 wineries and over 6,000 home winemakers. We now have two semi trucks and 4 ten wheeler trucks.

Over the years our wine has become award winning. Rick has perfected his wine and his talent into teaching many people the art of wine making. The picture below was taken in the early years in what use to be our wine tasting room. We now have a fine wine room in the basement of the main house.

Walkers has become one of the biggest supplies of grape juice in western NY.

Through the years we have had many valuable employees. George Dodd and Stanley Drozdiel were a great help in the construction and setting up of our first food line. Ron Brewster is head of maintenance today.

The hard working tradition started with Dick's mom who was planting cherry trees in 1985 at age 90.

We have always been a family that works together and have been very blessed with a great family, employees and friends that have made our business the success it is today.

In April, 1999 Becky married Ken Price and they are working and going to school in Syracuse, NY.

And lets not forget Rick and Tammie's little girls Heather who joined us in 1999 and Olivia who was born February 21, 2001.
